Visit to Launceston Model Aero Club, Saturday 4th July.

A group of seven Roaring Forties members visited LMAC on their July club day.  There were to be six of us but unfortunately Tony Gray injured himself a couple of days before the trip.

Fred Willis (LMAC President) joined us in Campbell Town for our normal coffee stop.

Due to the size of the models the seven of us had to take four cars.  A model trailer is on the wish list but at the moment getting a Capex. approved by "she who must be obeyed" is proving very tough.

Members who travelled to Launceston were Jack and Colleen, Gavin, Mike, Bill, Peter and Tony S.

Our host club had a good turnout for a cold winter's day.  Although a bit fresh the sun was shining and the wind was not too brisk to fly.  LMAC club members and their partners cooked a great BBQ and supplied soup, sausage rolls and cakes.  All disappeared in a very short time.

Some keen interest

Gavin put on a very impressive display with his jet.  There are not many model jets in Tasmania so it is always a thrill to see Gavin flying.  The sound of Gavin's jet is unbelievably realistic and totally jaw dropping.  The crowd was very appreciative and Gavin landed to a standing ovation.

Kevin Hay flew a 3 metre composite Yak through the sportsman's IMAC schedule.  Very impressive in the wind.  Hopefully Kevin will be competing in the next IMAC event.

A very big thank you to the LMAC committee and members for a great day.
