Dear friends,

The third round of the 2018 Tasmanian Pattern Competition held at Roaring Forties field on Sunday 3rd June was very successful due mainly to the unwavering support provided by everyone involved.

The air was great for flying once the fog lifted but it was indeed a cold day, made bearable by Tony Gray resurrecting an old workshop oil heater which was most appreciated by all to warm themselves between flying or judging duties.

The morning got off to a wonderful start with Ralphie’s bacon and egg "Butties" for an on-site cooked breakfast with coffees, making a few dollars for the club into the bargain, what a great innovation Mike!

For one reason or another our entry list was slightly down in numbers this time and that lead to a very busy schedule with everyone busy.

Lunchtime came upon us quickly and it is then that we really appreciate the work that Elaine and Colleen, Tony and Jack put in to the provision another beautiful meal, especially Colleen's fantastic hot soup, it hit the spot, thanks!

It was pleasing to see some spectators come out on such a cold day, Gavin's daughter Amelia and grand daughter Emily, Emily was very attentive of the planes, and Steve and Tina Reece, Steve never misses a good feed!

Scott Kay did a great job of running the scoring system as usual under some trying conditions and with some unusual technical issue with his plane preventing him from competing, thanks for your untiring efforts Scott.

Bill Deal was again doing his best to keep people moving to ensure smooth running of the program and I noticed he took the odd photo, I'm sure we will get to see some of them soon.

Andrew McEntyre was unable to make the trip this time but his influence was felt, thankyou Andrew for your event preparation and also keeping the wind away!

Special thanks to stalwart clubman Dave Harcourt for all his help in getting our charging station up and running for the event.

Congratulations to all the pilots, the flying was good, our hearts were in our mouths early with Tony Sheppard's Fantasista disappearing into cloud/fog for a few very long seconds before spinning safety down and continuing the schedule unphased! 

The results have already been posted thanks to Scott and Andrew.

And Sheppo, that beer from the "Tassie Trailer" afterwards just topped it off nicely :)

We look forward a couple of weeks to the LMAC event now.
