September, 2017

September Odd Bods.

September saw a bit of activity at the field.  Not a great month for the weather but some hardy characters ventured out and did a bit of flying in some windy conditions.

Of particular note was the election of President Mike to the position of President of the Tasmanian Model Aircraft Association.  Well done Mike. Mike replaces Clive Butler from the Phoenix Flyers who sadly passed away in August.

Peter and William were very active on the control line circle.

The control line models are P.A.'s Sukhoi powered by a OS46 LA and William's Tutor powered by a Brodak 40.  I have heard a rumour that a couple of Brodak kits are on the way to Hobart.  May be some congestion in the control line circle soon.

Images are of Tony Sheppard's BJ Craft Fantasista SP and Mike Ralph's BJ Craft Element.

A fair bit of pattern practice over the month.  P.A. and President Mike have been out a few times practicing the Advanced schedule while Tony G and Tony S have been trying to improve their point score in the sportsman class.  HMAC member Bill Gregory has also joined us a few times and will hopefully soon be taking part in his first competition.  Mike Ralph has been trimming his new BJ Craft Element and Jeti radio; an awesome combination.  Mike's first competition with this new combination will be at Phoenix Flyers on Saturday 7th October.
