A More Advanced Competition.

P.A. and Mike compete in Advanced and Tony S. gets a promotion point.

(at long last).

Tony S. and his Fantasista SP
Ok, a little bit of bias in this report, after all I have been trying to get a promotion point for a few years now. Didn't think I would get one before old age froze my fingers up.  One down two to go.

Enough of that.  CD Andrew McIntyre has definitely got an open line to the weather gods.  Terrible weather for two weeks and then on the day of the competition the sun comes out and the wind dies.

PA and Mike giving Advanced a bit of a nudge.
At the last competition Peter and Mike each got their third promotion point so were competing in advanced for the first time. Both competed well and took out 2nd and 3rd places (out of a field of 5) behind Terry Pearson.

In Expert Steve Cochrane and Steve Reece both got a promotion point.  Steve Cochrane advances to F3A while Steve Reece needs one more point to advance.  Ben Goode, who did not compete, also needs only one more point to advance.  Next year should see four competitors in the F3A class.

Only two competitors in Sportsman, Tony Gray and Tony Sheppard.  The class was won by Tony S who, as may have been mentioned, earned a promotion point.  Tony G. was suffering from a severe head cold and competed against much advice.  As always Tony competed well but his cold hampered his flying.

Ten competitors on the day.

Steve Cochrane, Steve Reece and Tony Sheppard judging Advanced.

Advanced competitors Mike Rutledge, Peter Allen and Andrew McIntyre

2nd in sportsman, Tony Gray with CD Andrew McIntyre

Peter Allen, 2nd at first try.  Too easy!

Tony G and Andrew McIntyre
